Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel Building Project
We are pleased to announce the beginning of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel Building Project in Front Royal.
This project will provide a permanent home for our parish community and a reverent place dedicated to the worship of God through the Traditional Latin Mass, the sacraments, and the full life of the Catholic Faith.
Our growing congregation now requires a chapel that can properly serve the spiritual needs of Catholic families throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
Please click the "Donate!" button above to donate online or the "Make a Pledge!" button to download a pledge card. Instructions for how to fill out and submit pledge cards - along with other ways to contribute financially - can be found in the "How Can You Help" section.

Why We Need a New Chapel
Over the past several years our chapel community has grown steadily. At present, Sunday attendance frequently exceeds the capacity of our current rented facility.
- 160–190 faithful regularly attend each Sunday Mass
- The building provides only 136 seats in the nave
- Parking is limited to approximately 60 spaces
In addition to these limitations, persistent maintenance concerns and difficulties with the landlord have made it clear that a stable and permanent chapel is necessary for the continued development of the apostolate.
A permanent church will allow our community to worship in a setting worthy of the sacred liturgy and provide room for future growth.
Plans for the New Chapel
Our architectural plans have been proposed, and fundraising is now underway.
The new chapel has been designed as a durable and cost-conscious structure, combining the strength of modern construction with the beauty of traditional Catholic design.
The property and site plan include:
- A proper chapel designed for the reverent celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass
- Over 112 parking spaces
- Accessible entry for parishioners and visitors
- Parish Hall for gatherings and parish events
- Administrative Wing with classrooms for catechism, meetings, and choir practice
Once completed, the chapel will provide a stable home for Catholic worship and parish life for many years to come.
Preserving the Traditional Mass
In a time when the Traditional Mass faces increasing restrictions in many dioceses, this project will help ensure the continued presence of the apostolate of the Society of Saint Pius X in the Shenandoah Valley.
The chapel will serve as a place wehre Catholic families can:
- Worship God through the Traditional Latin Mass
- Receive the sacraments in the traditional rites
- Provide their children with sound catechesis
- Grow together in the Catholic Faith
How You Can Help
The success of this project depends upon the prayers and generosity of the faithful.
You can help in several ways:
1. Pray
Please remember this project in your daily prayers and family Rosary. The following prayer to St. Joseph is especially recommended:
St. Francis De Sales' Prayer to St. Joseph:
Glorious St. Joseph, Spouse of Mary, grant us thy paternal
protection, we beseech thee by the Heart of Jesus Christ. O Thou,
whose power extends to all our necessities and can render possible
to us the most impossible things, open thy fatherly eyes to the
needs of thy children. In trouble and distress that afflicts us, we
confidently have recourse to thee. Make its happy outcome be for
God’s glory and for the good of His devoted servants. Amen.
2. Donate
